The Dynamic Archive is part of the Sinopale 7 in Turkey. We include in the archive as components the methods of the workers working beside the Sinopale in their workshops.

Ayhan Tuğran and Kadir Atılgan are local people from Sinop. Besides their own professions they open a space during the summer where they are weaving fishnets with ancient technics they have learned since childhood.

Although the techniques have been the same since centuries, being even used around many other locations in the world, the industrial developments called for changes.  The fishnets used to be handmade from scratch; now they are being shipped in big rolls from China. It is faster and cheaper. Smaller nets are cut from these big meshes and then rope and floaters are attached by these men.

Since 2 years Turkey has developed policies to reduce the use of plastic bags. Other reusable alternatives have became popular which served as a motive for creating bags using this same technique. There bags were a big hit among the artists and participants of the Sinopale.
