Personal Herbarium

Some plants and fruit trees are through cultures and times by their contribution, wild or cultivated, closely linked to human history. Around 4000 BC in the Middle East, the first waves of domestication took place: the olive tree, the fig tree, the date palm, the vine later, the production of oils and wines played a major economic role.

The olive branch, for example, becomes an Ornamental symbol struck on coins, linked to the political position of strength. Over the centuries and cultures, these symbols have flourished.

The practice of modelling a personal herbarium is a physical, performative act, a personal identification of the symbol in a sculptural tradition of translation by the body.
